Quality Control

PSW guarantees every product made by us against faulty materials, stitching and colour consistency. We'll even cover our clothes against faulty studs and buttons.

Quality Control Procedure

PSW has a 5 step quality-inspection procedure –

•  A Fabric Integrity Check when the roll of material is first received from the manufacturer;

•  Checks for holes and colour consistency prior to pattern cutting;

•  Checks for fabric integrity during making and sewing;

•  Checks for fabric integrity and print quality during screen printing;

•  Complete stitching, and a fabric integrity check prior to dispatch.

Towards Perfection Over 99% of our clothing is absolutely perfect when sent and there are still occasions where a garment slips past our inspection and isn't quite up to scratch. If you believe you have a garment that isn't absolutely fantastic, call us straight away. We will issue you with a ‘Returns Authorisation Number' and ask that you return the garment to our pre paid address. The Quality Control Group will then assess the garment.

External Testing

Because we are so passionate about quality, where there is a question over an item of clothing, PSW can refer the garment to the Textile Industry Laboratory, or the Textile Department at the University of NSW .

Using powerful microscopes and universal standard testing procedures, the laboratory can tell us what caused a hole in a piece of fabric, what chemicals caused a discoloration, and hundreds of other causes for garments to be returned. In some instances they can even tell us the type of bleach used in detergents after a garment has been washed!

We have built our reputation on quality, and lead the industry in uniform designs. It is true that you can buy ‘cheap stuff' elsewhere. However nothing will match the value you get from the quality we provide.

Shrinkage

PSW fabrics are constantly tested and designed to undertake all the rough treatment children give so that they last longer. Shrinkage of our fabrics is minimal.

The main fabric to pay particular attention to is our cotton rugby (used in shorts and culottes). These may shrink slightly in the first wash and this has been allowed for in the design. Please take notice of the washing instructions provided to ensure maximum usage of these garments.

Swatch Samples

If you like, we will even supply a swatch piece of fabric for you so that you can compare your swatch to the material of the clothing and ensure that what you order, you get - day in, day out.
